OUR STORY
Established in 2015, Retro Soul Design is a bespoke designer lighting company with one foot firmly in the clean sculptural lines of Mid-Century Modern design, and the other in “Kiwiana”, a melting pot of New Zealand cultural identity infused with fresh modern graphic interpretations.
Our ethos is to create beautiful handcrafted pieces of functional sculpture while following an environmentally responsible approach to manufacturing. The woods used in our products are locally sourced from sustainable wood stocks, trees that have had to be removed from housing developments, or even better, recycled and given a new lease on life. In an age of the “throw away society” Retro Soul Design rebels against the mentality of cheap soulless mass production. We pride ourselves in creating beautiful hand made products of the highest quality that stand the test of time, that ultimately become cherished family heirlooms.
